A project in Croatia which enables a collective community of people to garden a single piece of land, is starting to gather momentum…
The Community Garden project, which started last year in the northern city of Varaždin, has now spread to the capital Zagreb this, with 665 residents receiving their own 50m² plot of land where they can garden and plant vegetables, herbs and flowers. This week the 5th Gradski vrt project opened in the Zagreb suburb of Trnje, with 57 contracts given out by Mayor Milan Bandić.
“It is our wish that this year and next year, that we allocate about 2,000 plots, so that all those interested can get their own little garden,” said Bandić.
