We all know the most amazing opportunities happen when you connect with the right people. That’s why together with the opportunity from the Croatian Central State Office for Croats Abroad, the Victorian Croatian Chamber of Commerce (VCCC) has kicked off a competition to link Australian Diaspora Youth with Croatian Professors, Academics and Businesses to start building their connections and opportunities for their brighter futures in STEMM.
Meeting amazing Croatians like Frances Separovic inspired the VCCC in Australia to help more STEMM youth find their pathways into careers that shape our world.
More importantly Frances’ dedication to helping our next generation build their confidence to enter the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine sparked this initiative.
Frances has been awarded Officer of the Order of Australia (AO), is a biophysical chemist, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Chemistry, Deputy Director of the Bio21 Institute and former Head of the School of Chemistry at the University of Melbourne, where she taught physics, chemistry and graduate students in her field.
“The VCCC is working with Croatian Businesses to provide real world problems to our youth who will present ways to think about solving these problems with Frances and other established professionals in STEMM who have amazing Croatian careers,” organisers said.
