The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has reported that is has been granted a building permit for the construction of a football camp in Velika Gorica, marking an important milestone in the further development of this strategic project.
After obtaining the location permit in May, the Croatian Football Federation prepared the necessary documentation and requested the building permit from the city of Velika Gorica, ensuring that all safety, material, and construction standards were met.
It has been confirmed that the main project complies with all regulations and requirements, fulfilling all the prerequisites for the commencement of construction.
“Securing the building permit is a significant step towards achieving our strategic goal – the construction of the Croatian Football Federation’s camp. I am pleased that we have now completed the majority of what can be considered ‘paperwork’, which is particularly demanding in such a complex project.
I would like to thank everyone at HNS who has contributed to this major achievement, Mayor Krešimir Ačkar for his support, and the city of Velika Gorica for their positive resolution.
I am delighted that we are maintaining our planned pace, and I look forward to the start of construction in 2025, when we will begin to see the tangible outlines of the camp that Croatian football has dreamt of since our independence,” said HNS President Marijan Kustić.
Once the building permit becomes final, the Croatian Football Federation will launch a tender for the selection of a contractor. Following the selection process, the contractor is expected to commence work at the beginning of 2025.
“We have put a great deal of effort into the preparation of the main project, and we are therefore pleased with the issuance of the building permit, which marks a crucial step towards the start of construction on the HNS camp.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the colleagues who worked on the main project, as well as to the leadership of the Federation, headed by President Kustić, for their substantial support, which clearly demonstrates that the construction of the camp has been established as a strategic priority for the Federation.
This obliges us to maintain the same momentum and begin construction at the start of next year,” stated Andrea Dokuš, Head of Infrastructure at HNS.
The first phase of the Croatian Football Federation camp involves the construction of an administrative building, a stadium with a seating capacity of 1,500, three football fields, and warehouses. The second phase includes the construction of a fourth football field, a medical centre, and a sports hall.
It will be the home of Croatian football, with the Federation’s administrative building will be based as well.
