The Mayor of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević, has announced that construction company Strabag has been selected to carry out the reconstruction of Kranjčevićeva Stadium.

Strabag submitted the most favourable bid, securing the contract for the major redevelopment project.

Four companies submitted bids for the project: Strabag with a proposal of approximately €37.87 million, Kamgrad with €39.64 million, Texo Molior with €42.17 million, and a joint bid from ING-GRAD and Tehnika valued at €41.67 million.

All amounts are listed without VAT.

The new stadium, which is located right near the centre of the Croatian capital will have a capacity of 11,163 seats and will meet UEFA’s Category 4 standards, making it eligible to host matches in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

If no appeals are filed, construction is expected to begin next month.

The completion timeline is set at 18 months, meaning that by the end of 2026, both Dinamo Zagreb and the Croatian national team could be playing on a top-tier pitch.

The redevelopment of Kranjčevićeva Stadium is also a crucial step in paving the way for the demolition and eventual reconstruction of Maksimir Stadium.
