Controversial American writer Judith A. Reisman, who is best known for beliefs about homosexuality and pornography, has been invited to the Croatian parliament during her visit to Croatia by opposition party the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
Reisman will participate in a number of speaking engagements in the capital Zagreb, before making an appearance in the Croatian parliament as a guest of HDZ, writes daily Jutarnji list.
Reisman has claimed that a homosexual movement in Germany gave rise to the Nazi Party and the Holocaust. She enthusiastically and unconditionally endorses criminalization of homosexuality. She also believes that pornography is pretty much the source of all evil and supports a ban on pornography, and her appearance in parliament has upset some in Croatia.
“That building is a symbol of our nationhood, or the value of which the Republic of Croatia committed itself to protect by signing the Constitution and the International Human Rights Charters. Judith Reisman’s appearance in parliament will compromise that value,” said an open letter by organisations opposing her visit.
