A police officer in Croatia has been suspended from duty after leaking photos from a high-profile case to the media…
The officer, who reportedly had training with both the FBI and Scotland Yard, was part of the team that searched the home of Croatian Chamber of Commerce Chairman Nadan Vidošević on 13 November after he was arrested on suspicion on embezzling more than 4 million euros from the chamber. On 15 November daily newspaper Jutarnji list published photos of Vidošević’s 5 million euro art and stuffed animal collection in the basement of his villa taken by the mobile phone of the officer in question.
With the case yet to go in front of the courts, various media outlets in Croatia questioned how photographs of the evidence made their way to the daily newspaper in question. On Monday police headquarters announced the man had been suspended for leaking the photos.
