MMA legend Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipović has shown time and time again that beneath his tough exterior lies a kind-hearted man.

Known for his love of dogs, Cro Cop has a long history of rescuing and caring for animals in need. From donating generously to dog shelters to opening his home to strays, he’s made it his mission to help dogs in any way he can.

His latest act of kindness involves a stray dog he found right outside his home.

– Yesterday, I found this little dog wandering frantically on the road outside my house in Borčec. She’s likely a mixed-breed Pinscher. I fed her and took her to the vet, but she doesn’t have a microchip.

She’s well-fed and very well looked after, so she’s clearly someone’s pet or used to be—perhaps someone abandoned her by throwing her out of a car. It’s possible she simply wandered off, but considering she has no chip, that seems less likely.

I’ve checked local neighbourhood Facebook pages and the ‘Lost/Found Dogs Zagreb’ group, but no one seems to be looking for her.

Cro Cop says he will make sure the dog finds a home

– If her owners are searching for her, I’d love to see her reunited with her home. However, if some lowlife did abandon her, they should know I will find her the home she deserves.

I already have four dogs, and honestly, I don’t need a fifth, but she certainly won’t end up back on the street, under a car, or attacked by other dogs since she barely weighs 5 kilograms. If her owners don’t come forward, I’ll put her up for adoption, but until then, she’ll stay with me. She’s very young, a Pinscher mix, and weighs less than 5 kilograms, he concluded.
