22-year-old Croatian Jure Jerić, from the Dalmatian city of Split, has been named the best student of his generation at one of the oldest and prestigious universities in the world – Oxford in the UK…
Jerić this year won the Outstanding Academic Achievement award, which is awarded to the student who achieves the best exam results and the best dissertation. More than 22,000 of the best students, including 10 Croats, study at the acclaimed Oxford University, and Jerić has proved himself to be the best of the best.
Oxford has educated many notable alumni, including 27 Nobel laureates, 26 British Prime Ministers, and many foreign heads of state.
“One day I will definitely get a doctorate in international political economy, and then maybe I will come back and live in Croatia and put to use my knowledge and experience from overseas. For now I am glad to come home for a holiday, but also glad to go away (and work),” Jerić told daily Slobodna Dalmacija.
