Croat to Take Place in Rock Hall of Fame

American-Croatian Krist Novoselic will be inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April next year…
Born in California to Croatian parents, Novoselic the bassist and co-founder of legendary grunge band Nirvana, who along with music icons KISS, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, Hall and Oates, Linda Ronstadt, and Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, will be inducted as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2014 on April 10 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Other nominees this year included Deep Purple, the Meters, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, the Zombies, the Replacements and rap acts LL Cool J and N.W.A.
Novoselic, who spent time in school in Zadar on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast in the 1980’s, met Kurt Cobain through his brother and the two discovered they had a similar taste in music and decided to form the band Nirvana. Nirvana, regarded as one of the most influential and important rock bands of the modern era, are one of the best-selling bands of all time, having sold over 75 million records worldwide. They are also the 80th best-selling music artist ever in the United States.
