Croatia 47th On Best Countries For Business List

Croatia has slipped from 41st to 47th out of 141 countries on the Forbes list of the Best Countries for Business in 2012.
Croatia was still the leader in the region however, ahead of Bulgaria (49th), Turkey (52nd), Romania (60th), Bosnia and Herzegovina (85th) and Serbia (90th). The criteria used in the ranking system included property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, freedom (personal, trade and monetary), red tape, investor protection and stock market performance and was based on published reports from the Central Intelligence Agency, Freedom House, Heritage Foundation, Property Rights Alliance, Transparency International, World Bank and World Economic Forum.
New Zealand was top of the list when it came to the best country for doing business in, followed by Denmark, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada.
