Croatia is slowing trying to shake off the tag that it is only a summer destination, and it is not doing a bad job of it, although there is plenty more room for improvement…
Tourists visiting the Croatian coast and the capital in Zagreb have increased this November compared to the same month last year. 160,000, or 4% more tourists visited the coast and Zagreb this November, than in November 2012, with overnight stays up a respectable 5.5%. Overall there has been a 5.4% increase in the number of tourists to Croatia in the first 11 months of the year, compared to the same period last year.
Most of November’s tourists were foreign visitors (105,000 more or 5.3% than last November). 12.3 million tourists have visited Croatia so far in 2013, say the Croatian Tourist Board, who say they are continuing to work hard to make Croatia attractive in the cooler months.
