Croatia announces squad for World Handball Championship and plays opening game on Friday

The 2023 IHF World Men’s Handball Championship is being held from 11-29 January in Sweden and Poland.
Croatia is in Group G with Egypt, Morocco and USA.
Their first match will take place on Friday, 13 January against Egypt at 8:30 pm.
Next up for Croatia will be USA on Sunday, 15 January again at 8:30 pm.
They will play Morocco in their final game on Tuesday, 17 January at 8:30 pm.
If Croatia finishes among the top eight they will qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
Croatia warmed up for the World Championships by winning the Croatia Cup with wins over North Macedonia and Israel.
Today, Croatia coach Hrvoje Horvat announced his squad of 19.
