Situated in the eastern Croatian town of Belišće, Harburg-Freudenberger is the number one hydraulic press producer, which is used for manufacturing tyres, in the world. Some of their clients include tyre giants Goodyear, Michellin, Pirelli and Continental, and they could gain the biggest player of all soon – Bridgestone…
“We are negotiating with Bridgestone,” Harburg-Freudenberger’s board member Zoran Uranjek said to Poslovni dnevnik.
The Croatia-based company, which was established in 1988 and is mainly engaged in the production of hydraulic presses for the manufacturing of tyres, is one of Croatia’s largest exporters. Every week from the base in Belišće till the end of the year 13 hydraulic presses are exported around the world. Each press weighs around 20 tonnes and costs range from 150,000 to 300,000 euros. The company, which wholesales and retails its products to various industrial companies, building and construction companies and individual clients in Croatia and abroad, hopes to expand next year.
“The plan next year is for further growth although presses have become more complicated to produce due to new legislation by the EU, especially in terms of security. This means that they are more expensive, but interest in them is not falling, in fact it is growing,” says Uranjek, adding that the company hopes to increase revenues from 75 million euros to 95 million euros in 2015.
