The Croatian assured their place in Italy with a nail-biting 3-2 victory over the Dutch. Croatia took a 2-0 lead after winning the first two sets 25-18 and 25-23. Holland came back to level the tie at 2-2 before Croatia took the decider 16-14. It was their new Brazilian coach Angela Vercesija’s first major success in charge.
