ZAGREB, April 16 (Hina) – Fifty new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Croatia in the last 24 hours, 56 infected people have recovered and two have died, a news conference was told in Zagreb on Thursday.
“Since yesterday we have detected 50 new COVID-19 cases, which brings their total number to 1,791,” Health Minister Vili Beros said.
A total of 901 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours, or 20,157 to date. The percentage of positive cases is 8.89%, which is less than in the previous days, the minister added.
Two persons have died since Wednesday – a 74-year-old woman in Dubrovnik and a 78-year-old man in Zagreb. Both had severe underlying chronic conditions.
The death toll currently stands at 35. A total of 372 people are in hospitals, 38 more than on Wednesday, and 31 are on ventilators.
“We have 312 people who have recovered, 14 more than yesterday, and 217 have recovered at home, which is 42 more than yesterday. This puts the total number of recoveries at 529,” Beros said.
