Croatia will be directly connected to 122 international cities during the upcoming summer flight season, which runs from late March to late October.
According to initial data gathered by the Croatian National Tourist Board from the country’s airports, the busiest routes will be to and from London, Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna.
The 2025 summer flight schedule is set to include approximately 485 domestic and international air routes, with an expected 2% increase in passenger aircraft operations compared to last summer’s schedule.
Enhancing Air Connectivity for Tourism Growth
“Air transport plays a crucial role in driving positive results for Croatian tourism, especially when it comes to demand from geographically distant markets,” said Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.
“Our goal is to improve air connectivity with international destinations every year. This is particularly significant for our southern regions, which are more reliant on air travel, and in achieving the strategic objective of strengthening pre-season and post-season tourism.
Improving air links is essential during these shoulder seasons to ensure better accessibility to our destinations. This means we must actively encourage the launch of new routes—around 40 this year—and push for earlier start dates to key markets.
Consequently, we have allocated over €3 million this year for strategic partnerships, including collaborations with airlines. Given the increase in planned operations compared to last year’s summer schedule, we anticipate a positive impact on overall tourism performance.”
Staničić also highlighted that the first major influx of visitors is expected during the upcoming Easter holidays.
Connecting Croatia to the World
During the summer season, Croatia will have direct links to 42 countries, primarily in Europe.
However, scheduled connections will also extend to destinations in North America, Asia, and the Middle East, including the United States, Canada, South Korea, Qatar, and the UAE.
Nearly all Croatian airports are expected to see an increase in traffic, with Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik handling the highest number of passenger flights.
From an outbound market perspective, the highest number of flights to Croatia is planned from Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Poland.
Among individual airports, the busiest hubs for flights to Croatia will be Munich (Franz Josef Strauss), Frankfurt (Frankfurt Airport), Vienna (Vienna International), Amsterdam (Schiphol), and London (Gatwick).
Airlines Boosting Operations in Croatia
A total of 54 different airlines are set to operate on routes between Croatia and international destinations this summer.
Leading carriers in terms of flight rotations on both domestic and international routes include Croatia Airlines, Ryanair, EasyJet, Eurowings, and Lufthansa.
For example, Ryanair will connect Croatian airports to over 60 cities across Europe, while Croatia Airlines will offer flights to more than 30 destinations.
It is important to note that these figures are projections, and changes may occur in the final schedules.
