Croatia Finds First World Cup Warm-Up Opponents

The Croatian FA has found its first opponent for Croatia’s build up to next summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil…
Niko Kovač will test out his side before Brazil against Switzerland in Switzerland on 5 March. It will be the second time in recent history that the two sides will meet, after Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side thrashed Croatia in Split 4:2 in a friendly in August last year. The match was Igor Štimac’s first match in charge.
Kovač will have two further build up matches, with Austria, Panama and Chile mentioned as possible opponents. Switzerland are grouped with France, Ecuador and Honduras in Brazil, while Croatia face hosts Brazil, Cameroon and Mexico.
