Croatia jumps up FIFA world rankings after World Cup bronze

ZAGREB, 22 December 2022 – Croatia has jumped five places in the FIFA rankings which were released today.
The rankings were released on Thursday after the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Croatia’s impressive run, which saw them finish 3rd, has helped them move into the Top 10 again.
Wins over Canada, Japan, Brazil and Morocco, as well as draws against Morocco and Belgium, help Croatia move into 7th place, up from 12th place.
Croatia now overtakes the likes of Portugal, Spain and Italy.
It has been a great period for Zlatko Dalić’s side, losing just two matches in the last 23.
Despite being knocked out by Croatia in the quarterfinals, Brazil are still the number one ranked team in the world, followed by new world champions Argentina. Runners-up France are now ranked third, followed by Belgium and England.
The biggest jumpers in the latest ranking were Morocco and Australia, who both moved up 11 places. Morocco is now ranked 11th in the world.
Canada and Qatar had the biggest drops, both losing 12 places.
Croatia’s next match will be Euro 2024 qualifiers in March.
