Croatia will take on Mexico in a friendly fixture next weekend in America with a side of virtually home-based players.
On Monday coach Ante Čačić named his 16-man squad for the match which will be played on 27 May 2017 in Los Angeles at the Memorial Coliseum.
The match, which will kick-off at 16:30 local time, will be the first match in North America for Croatia, but it is bad news for American fans hoping to see Croatia’s finest talent live.
Due to club or other commttments, there will be no Luka Modrić, Mateo Kovačić, Mario Mandžukić, Ivan Perišić, Marcelo Brozović, Milan Badelj, or Nikola Kalinić on show.
The side named today has under 30 international caps between them. Defender Tin Jedvaj, Duje Čop and keeper Lovre Kalinić are the most experienced.
