Croatia named 2nd most desirable country in Europe

Croatia has been named the second most desirable country in Europe by Wanderlust, one of the world’s most respected travel magazines.
Wanderlust recently held its 23rd Reader Travel Awards ceremony at the famous Tate Modern in London.
With an impressive 168,000 readers casting over 3 million votes, Croatia received a number of awards in multiple categories.
The event, hosted by comedian and travel-show presenter Jack Whitehall, saw Croatia recognised as the second most desirable country in Europe, behind Italy.
Croatia was ahead of France, Spain, and Greece.
Croatian islands was the second most desirable region, behind the Greek island.
Dubrovnik was named the third most most desirable city in Europe behind Madrid and Istanbul, while Hvar was the fifth most desirable island in Europe. Malta was top, followed by Ireland, Madeira and Sicily.
Croatia has consistently ranked high at the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, and after last year’s win as the most desirable country in Europe, this year’s four awards reaffirm its place among the top destinations.
Bisera Fabrio, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board in London, expressed her pride in the recognition: “We are thrilled to be named one of the top destinations in Europe by Wanderlust readers, who are passionate and engaged travelers.
