Croatia nominated for Tourism Oscars in three categories

Croatia has been nominated in three categories for the prestigious American Travvy Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of Tourism.”

Croatia has been nominated for Best Destination in the Mediterranean, Best Cruise Destination, and the Croatian National Tourist Board has the opportunity to win the award for Best European Tourist Organisation.

“We are delighted that Croatia’s qualities as a tourist destination have been recognised by the Travvy Awards 2024.

These nominations reflect the hard work and dedication of the Croatian tourism industry in achieving international competitiveness. We are very proud to present our country as a top destination on the global stage, thanks to its advantages and wide range of tourism products and services,” said Leila Krešić-Jurić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board’s office in the United States.

The Travvy Awards, organised by TravelPulse.com and AGENTatHOME magazine, are among the most esteemed recognitions in the US tourism industry.

They acknowledge the highest standards of excellence and are awarded to various stakeholders, such as national tourist organisations, destinations, tour operators, transport providers, travel agents, and products.

The awards are voted on by industry professionals as well as the general public.

The winners of the 2024 Travvy Awards will be announced at a ceremony on 7 November at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Centre in Florida.

Voting is open via the link until 6 September.

“The opportunity to win these prestigious awards highlights Croatia’s increasing recognition as a superb global tourist destination in America, our most important long-haul market, from which we achieve the highest tourist traffic.

This year, Americans have made over 469,000 visits to Croatia and accounted for 1.4 million overnight stays, representing a 6% increase in visits and a 5% increase in overnight stays compared to the same period last year. Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, Hvar, and Rovinj are particularly popular destinations among American tourists,” the Croatian Tourist Board said.
