Croatia now ranked No.1 in the world in tennis team rankings

ZAGREB, 7 December 2021 – Croatia is now the number one ranked tennis team in the world, according to the latest rankings published by the Davis Cup.
After reaching their fourth Davis Cup final this past weekend, Croatia has jumped ahead of France to take the number one ranking.
Croatia now has 1435,5 points, with France in second place with 1376.5 points.
On Monday, the Croatian team returned home to a welcome on Zagreb’s main square after finishing runners-up at the 2021 Davis Cup Finals in Madrid.

Croatia were impressive throughout the Finals, beating Australia and Hungary to win their group. They then beat Italy in the quarter-finals and Serbia in the semi-finals.
One of the big finds for Croatia during this year’s Finals was Borna Gojo. Ranked 279th in the world, the 23-year-old beat 3 opponents in the top 70.
Croatia has played in the Davis Cup Finals four times, winning twice in 2005 and 2018, and finishing runner-up in 2016 and 2021.
