Croatia plans to open an embassy and tourist board in South Korea, the government announced on Monday…
With interest in Croatia as a destination among South Korean tourists growing, now well over a quarter of a million a year, Josip Leko, Croatia’s Parliament Speaker, said that as well as plans for a Croatian embassy and tourist board in South Korea, an air traffic agreement recently signed is to pave the way for direct flights between the two nations.
It was earlier announced that Korean Air would launch a direct service at the end of August between Seoul and Zagreb. Leko met with South Korean Parliament Speaker Chung Ui-Hwa on Monday.
Thanks largely to a popular Korean reality show shot in Croatia, its popularity as a destination has risen dramatically, with over 350% growth in the number of arrivals in the last 3 years. Recently the first ever exclusive Korean hostel in Croatia’s capital opened, as have Korean restaurants in Split and Zagreb.
