Tourist season in the plus, with 13 percent more arrivals in November – Nearly 107 million overnight stays realised during 11 months

According to the initial data from the eVisitor system, which includes tourist traffic in commercial and non-commercial facilities, as well as nautical charter (eCrew system), Croatia saw over 375 thousand arrivals and 941 thousand overnight stays in November.

This represents a 13 percent increase in arrivals and a 1 percent increase in overnight stays compared to the same month last year.

“The Croatian tourism sector has successfully maintained the upward trend in traffic even in November, and we entered the last month of the year in a very positive atmosphere. Our country is currently hosting attractive and interesting Advent programs, so we expect increased tourist traffic in December, with numerous domestic and foreign guests, especially those from our closest markets such as Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and others. Our goal is to further strengthen Croatia’s tourism results in December, both in terms of tourist traffic and record-breaking revenue,” stated Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board, adding that a promotional campaign has just started in emitting markets to encourage bookings and new reservations for 2024.

Looking at the counties, the highest number of overnight stays in November was recorded in Istria (150,000), Kvarner (148,000), and Split-Dalmatia County (129,000). Regarding destinations, the highest number of overnight stays in November was in Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split, Opatija, and Zadar.

“The tourism results we have achieved throughout this year confirm that we are achieving the strategic goals of the Government of the Republic of Croatia when it comes to the development of year-round and regionally balanced tourism. Considering the beautiful holiday events throughout Croatia, I am confident that we will conclude this year exceptionally successfully. In parallel with the successful completion of this tourist year, a series of preparatory activities for the next year has already been implemented, from participating in fairs to presenting in various markets, and I believe that we will enter 2024 with an even stronger positive trend in the development of our tourism throughout the year,” emphasised Nikolina Brnjac, Minister of Tourism and Sports.
