Croatia has achieved another record-breaking year in tourism, with foreign visitors generating nearly €15 billion in revenue.
According to the Croatian National Bank (HNB), income from international tourists reached €14.99 billion in 2024, marking a 2.7% increase compared to 2023, the Ministry of Tourism said today in a statement.
This translates to an additional €388.6 million in earnings.
The last quarter of 2024 was particularly strong, bringing in €1.798 billion—a 10.1% rise compared to the same period in 2023. That’s an increase of €164.6 million year-on-year.
Focus on Quality and Sustainability
Minister of Tourism and Sport, Tonči Glavina, expressed satisfaction with the results, highlighting the significance of growth beyond the peak summer months. “We are especially pleased that record results have been achieved in both the pre-season and post-season,” he said.
Glavina attributed the success to substantial investments in Croatia’s tourism sector.
These have been supported by EU funds and the state budget, improving both public and private tourism infrastructure. Enhancements in quality and services have made Croatia even more attractive to visitors.
Strong Promotion and a Year-Round Destination
Croatia’s presence at major global tourism fairs and targeted promotion efforts in key markets have also played a crucial role. “We have positioned Croatia as a desirable and valuable destination,” Glavina stated.

The government’s long-term strategy aims to make Croatia a sustainable, high-quality, year-round destination rather than focusing solely on summer tourism.
“All the changes we are making within the comprehensive tourism management reform aim to increase revenue not just by growing visitor numbers but by enhancing the overall quality of our offer,” Glavina added.
