If the plans of one of Russia’s richest men, Ukrainian-born Russian businessman Viktor Vekselberg, are realised, then the popular Croatian tourist destination of Dubrovnik could be home to Croatia’s first ever 7-star hotel…
Last May Vekselberg’s company ‘Vila Larus’ purchased the devastated Hotel Belvedere in Dubrovnik for 12.17 million euros and are set to invest around 150 million euros to turn what was once one of Croatia’s most luxurious hotels into a 7-star hotel, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija.
The new ‘Belvedere’ hotel, situated in a prime spot over looking the Adriatic sea, will spread over 25,000 m2 of land with 120 rooms and a private hotel beach. Last week plans for the upgrade were presented to the City of Dubrovnik.
