Croatia to hold 16 big sporting events in 2021

ZAGREB, 19 April (Hina) – The Tourism and Sports Ministry will co-finance the organisation of 16 major sports events taking place in Croatia this year in the amount of HRK 14.6 million.
A decision on allocating the funds was made by Minister Nikolina Brnjac after a public call, held for the fourth year in a row during which time 44 major events have been co-financed.
“Besides the sporting significance, these events also have great promotional and tourist value for Croatia,” Brnjac said, adding that some of this year’s 16 events were already recognised in the world, while some would take place for the first time.
The 16 big events to be co-financed this year are:
WACT Zagreb 2021 – Hanžeković Memorial and Ivan Ivančić Memorial track and field contest – Zagreb – September
WRC Croatia Rally 2021 – 22 to 25 April 2021
CRO Race cycling contest – October
European Shooting Championships EPSO 2021 – Osijek – May/June
DOBRO World Cup Osijek 2021 for gymnastic athletes – Osijek – June
56th European Senior Karate Championships – Poreč – May
FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament – Split – June
AUDI FIS World Ski Cup “Snow Queen Trophy” 2021 – January (held)
