Croatia to play France in Nations League quarterfinal

Croatia are the current runners-up

Croatia will meet France in the 2025 UEFA Nations League quarterfinals after the draw was made today in Nyon.

The quarterfinals will take place on 20 and 23 March 2025. The first leg will be a home match for Croatia whilst the second leg will be in France. 

The quarterfinals are:

Netherlands v Spain

Denmark v Portugal

Croatia v France

Italy v Germany

If Croatia beat France, they will play either Spain or Netherlands in the semifinals.

The semi finals will be played on 4–5 June 2025 and the final on 8 June 2025. The venue for the finals will be announced later.

The Croatian Football Federation will decide on the venue and announce at a later date. A number of fans would like to see Croatia return to Split’s Poljud Stadium for the match.

Croatia has historically done well in Split, where the atmosphere generated is considered the best in the country. 

Croatia qualified for the quarterfinals are finishing runner-up on Group 1.

A 1-1 draw with Portugal this week in Split saw Croatia edge finish on 8 points, behind Portugal who topped the group with 14 points.

Croatia won two, lost two and drew two matches in the campaign.

Scotland finished third with 7 points, whilst Poland were bottom of the group with 4 points.

Croatia is defending their silver medal from the last Nations League in 2023.
