Entitled “Croatia to the World” and organised by Večernji list, a unique exhibition dedicated to Croatian greats will open on Friday.
The exhibition is dedicated to prominent scientists, inventors, writers, artists and researchers of Croatian origin who have bequeathed to the world their inventions, books, works of art, inventions and knowledge, and are the pride of Croatia.
The exhibition will present works of art, author’s drawings, patents, archival documents and videos, as well as devices created according to patents and brilliant ideas.
Selection was made according to the criteria of originality, vision, wide application of ideas and inventions of deserving Croats, and only those whose actions had a concrete impact on the global history of mankind.
Everyone will have the opportunity to learn or remember the great Croatian names from February 12, when “Croatia to the World” opens in Meštrović Pavilion, also known as the Home of Croatian Artists, in Zagreb.
The exhibition will also feature a gilded cross from the broken spire of the south tower of the Zagreb Cathedral, which disappeared without a trace after the earthquake in March last year, but was accidentally found by a Večernji list photojournalist while taking photos on the roof of the cathedral.
Since then, the cross has been in the museum of the City of Zagreb, and will now be exhibited at the exhibition.
“Croatia to the World” exhibition will be open until 15 May.
