Croatian artist Tina Gverović is set to have her work exhibited at London’s famous Tate Modern...
Based now between Dubrovnik and London, Zagreb-bred Gverović (38) works with installation, drawing, painting, sound and video. Her work often takes the form of immersive and disorientating installations that question understandings of space, territory and identity and the ways in which these are bound to invention and imagination. She has recently exhibited at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka; Busan Biennale, South Korea; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb.
Gverović has been invited to undertake a two-week residency at Tate Modern, and will produce a series of new paintings and an immersive site-specific installation conceived specifically for the Project Space exhibition which will open on 21 November. The exhibition, which is held in collaboration with Serbian artist Siniša Ilić, is curated by Hannah Dewar from Tate Modern and Una Popović from the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade and will be open to 9 March next year. Admission is free.
