All is in readiness for the opening ceremony to begin at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia tonight, but unlike journalists who have turned up to cover the event, the Croatian contingent has no complaints about the facilities…
“I have had no complaints from members of our delegation. Accommodation in the Olympic village is excellent and of a very high standard. The rooms are excellent, they have large, airy bathrooms, and all the members of our delegation are satisfied with the place. Food is available during the day and until late at night and there is a great choice and variety of cuisines (Asian, Russian, international, vegetarian, a great selection of fruits, salads, desserts and soft drinks),” Croatian Olympic Team spokesman Nenad Eror told Index.hr, saying the facilities in Sochi are on a par with what were in Vancouver, Canada.
Journalists however were not so enthusiastic of Sochi, with many complaining that hotel standards were terrible with no light bulbs, shower curtains, no hot water, doors that don’t close properly and in a general poor condition. Croatia’s President Ivo Josipović will be in Sochi tonight for the opening ceremony.
