A Croatian project has won a prestigious Ulysses Award for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism handed out by the United Nation World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) this week in Madrid…
Šibenik’s DSP Studio & Momentum Studio have won the award for their innovative 3D AR Visual Portal project. The winning innovation, which connects tourism and education, is a 3D virtual guide – coming in the form of the famous Juraj Dalmatinac – who takes visitors on a guided tour of Šibenik’s famous Sveti Jakov cathedral. By installing a simple application on tablets or smartphones, famous 15th century sculptor Dalmatinac, whose works grace the cathedral, tells the story of the history of the town’s well-known monument. The application comes in three languages – Croatian, English and Japanese.
