‘Croatian Classics: 100 savoury dishes to delight your family and friends’, a cookbook by Andrea Pisac, has been nominated for the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award.
The award was established in 1995 and has since honoured and promoted best food and wine books published worldwide.
The Gourmand Award is for a cookbook what an Oscar is for a film. This is an important recognition for individual books but also for a food culture in various countries around the world.
‘I am incredibly honoured to be nominated for this outstanding award. Croatian Classics is a true labour of love. It took two years to research, cook, write and photograph. What gives me most pleasure is that this recognition puts Croatian food and culture of eating on the world map of cuisines – something that has been due for a long time,’ Andrea Pisac told us.
Over 100,000 food and drink culture are being published each year around the world. Gourmand World Cookbook selects the best of the best, which is about 1% of the total production. The winners will receive their awards in May 2023 in Sweden.
Andrea’s Croatian Classics cookbook features 100 savoury dishes from the entire Croatia and boasts 700 colour images, leading both the novice and experienced cook through the meticulously detailed cooking process.
