Croatian dance ensemble LADO to perform in USA

Croatia’s famous dance ensemble is off to perform in the United States of America.
The LADO Ensemble will perform at the opening of the exhibition “Croatia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage on UNESCO Lists” at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The LADO Ensemble will take part in the opening of the exhibition “Croatia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage on UNESCO Lists” by the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
This event is organised by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations in New York. The exhibition opening and LADO Ensemble soloists’ performance will take place on May 21, 2024.

The Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb’s exhibition “Croatia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage on UNESCO Lists” is a project in which LADO has been participating for years.
Just last year, in 2023, this project, along with LADO’s performances, visited Malta and Australia, confirming its strong international reputation and recognition.
Through this project, exhibition, and performances, the Ethnographic Museum Zagreb and the LADO Ensemble participate in promoting Croatia’s culture, in collaboration with the diplomatic and consular representations of the Republic of Croatia worldwide.
The event in New York is organised by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations in New York. LADO Ensemble soloists will enhance the exhibition opening with works included in UNESCO’s lists of intangible cultural heritage, making the performance at the United Nations building a significant cultural and diplomatic event.
We especially thank the Permanent Representative and Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivan Šimonović, and the representatives of the diplomatic mission who made it possible for the exhibition to be presented at the UN.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Zagreb – City Office for Culture and Civil Society, and with the LADO Ensemble’s own funds.
After the opening at the United Nations, the exhibition, organised by the Croatian diplomatic and consular missions, is planned to be presented across the United States and Canada.
