Croatian Dino Prižmić becomes world’s best tennis player under 18

Croatian tennis player Dino Prižmić (17) has continued his great streak by winning his fifth ITF tournament in a row.
In the final of the 51st Istrian Riviera tournament in Poreč, Prižmić defeated sixth seed Mirko Martinez from Switzerland 6:3, 6:2 on Sunday.
I’m happy with how I played. In the beginning, I started maybe a little relaxed, but I managed to finish the match and I’m glad that I won the tournament,” said Prižmić.
The victory was his fifth ITF title in a row after he won three back to back in Monastir, Tunisia and one on Heraklion, Greece.
Prižmić, who is the from the Croatian city of Split, which has produced so many big stars like Goran Ivanišević, Mario Ančić and Mate Pavić, has now jumped inside the top 500 players in the world.

Today he was confirmed as the new world number 381, and the world’s best tennis player under the age of 18.
The talented Croatian is now the world’s highest ranked 18-year-old, overtaking Czech Republic’s Jakub Menšík (ATP 391) who previously held that honour.
Prižmić reached the semifinal of the 2022 French Open Junior where he lost to eventual champion.
