Croatia’s political elite all jetted off to Qatar on Sunday to officially open the first Croatian Embassy in the Arab state.
President Ivo Josipovic was joined by Deputy Prime Minister Radimir Cacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vesna Pusic as they performed the official duties. The trio will also use the time to meet with wealthy Qatar investors in Doha to discuss the possibility of investing in the building of a LNG terminal on the Adriatic island of Krk.
Qatar have been interested in the LNG terminal since building a similar one in Italy and despite negotiations stalling over several years, they have not given up their desire. Qatar also want to invest in Croatian shipyards, reports Vecernji list. In return, it is expected with the opening of the Croatian embassy in Doha, that opportunities for Croatian businesses in food and construction will open up.
