15 November 2019 – Croatian firm RASCO, which specialises in the manufacturer of professional equipment for road maintenance, is to supply Norway and Ukraine with almost €3.5 million worth of snow ploughs and salt spreaders, the company said on Friday.
The company, which is based in the northern Croatian town of Kalinovac in the Koprivnica-Krizevci County, will deliver 75 snow ploughs and salt spreaders worth €1.4 to Norway, and export 100 machines to Ukraine worth €2 million ahead of the winter season.
RASCO also exported 21 salt spreaders to German road maintenance councils and four snow ploughs to Munich Airport. RASCO’s snow ploughs are special as they are six and a half meters wide, which is twice the size of the usual ploughs seen on the roads.
“It is not a small deal when Norwegian road maintenance professionals who are accustomed to snow and ice for up to eight months a year, or one of Europe’s largest airports, give credence to a manufacturer of winter equipment from a Mediterranean country. These also include road maintenance companies in Russia that have been our customer for years,” said RASCO CEO Ivan Franicevic.
RASCO started doing business in 1990 as a service workshop for agricultural machinery on leased premises. The focus was soon transferred to servicing equipment of road maintenance companies which lacked reliable post-sales support by their suppliers on the domestic, Croatian market.
Today, RASCO, which employs 400 people, exports to more than 40 countries on five continents and 80 percent of its revenue comes from exports.
