Croatian firm Rector, who are engaged in construction, design and overhaul of military ships, have won a massive 500 million euro contract with the Libyan government, reports N1…
Rector, who are based in the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka, will manufacture a range of ships that the Libyan government will use to intercept people smugglers. The ships will be also be used to accept and treat African migrants. Libya has become the main center for the smuggling of African immigrants with thousands of illegal immigrants daily smuggled across the coast of Libya.
“The deal will include us manufacturing a large number of ships, both large and smaller ones, which will be used to intercept and to control the Libyan coast, which is over 2,000 kilometres,” Velibor Zjačić from Rektor told N1.
