Tickets for Croatia’s version of England’s Community Shield, formerly the Charity Shield, which will see Croatia’s biggest rivals Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split go head to head, have gone on sale for just 67 euro cents.
The ‘Super Cup’ football season opener between Dinamo Zagreb, winners of the Croatian league, and Croatian Cup winners Hajduk Split, will be played this Saturday at Zagreb’s Maksimir stadium, with tickets for the north stand just 67 cents (5 kuna). Dinamo Zagreb have tried a similar move to attract fans before as they battle with empty stadiums for most of their matches. Champions League qualifying matches last season were as cheap as 14 cents as club officials wanted to fill the stadium.
