The leadership of the Croatian Football Federation has decided to donate 20,000 euros to help people affected by the severe earthquakes that hit Turkey this week.
The Croatian Football Federation paid the money to the account of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Croatia, and the money will be forwarded to the competent institutions in Turkey to help people affected by severe earthquakes, HNS said in a statement.
“We are all horrified and deeply saddened by this historical tragedy that happened in Turkey and Syria, and we express our condolences to all those who lost their loved ones in these unimaginably terrible earthquakes. We wanted to show with this concrete gesture that we stand with the Turkish people in this difficult moment,” HNS president Marijan Kustić said, adding.
“We hope with all our hearts that the rescuers’ efforts will result in more lives being saved – the image of each person saved gives at least some comfort in these terrible times. Turkey is often our sporting rival, but above all it is our sporting friend, and we pray for the health of the survivors and the strength of the entire nation to overcome this terrible catastrophe.”
