Croatian gymnast Tin Srbić has won his first European Championships gold medal in the Turkish city of Antalya on Sunday.
The 26-year-old from Zagreb had the third-highest score (13.966) in the qualifying rounds, which filled him with optimism for the final in which he would produce one of his best performances in recent years.
He executed flawlessly, and the judges rewarded him with a score of 14.233, the highest in the final, for a well-deserved gold medal.
Tin has now won six medals in his seven final appearances. Along with his world gold in Montreal in 2017, he won silver two years later in Stuttgart, two European silvers in 2019 and 2020, and his most cherished medal, the Olympic silver in Tokyo in 2021.
He only missed out on a medal at the World Championships in Doha, where he finished fourth.
This victory is undoubtedly a significant moment for Tin but it also highlights the potential of the Croatian gymnastics community, who have followed his career with pride.
This achievement will undoubtedly give Tin an extra boost of motivation and encourage other young gymnasts in Croatia and around the world to continue pursuing their talents.
