One Croatian hotel has picked up a prestigious World Luxury Hotel award.
Heritage Hotel Antique Split, located in the heart of Split on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, has won a World Luxury Hotel award in the Heritage Hotel category, beating a number of impressive heritage hotels from all over the globe.
A number of hotels from Croatia were nominated in various categories in the global awards, but only the family-run Heritage Hotel Antique Split was a global winner.
The 8-room heritage boutique hotel has its classical interiors set in the 4th-century building on a street tucked inside the UNESCO-protected Diocletian’s Palace.
Views from the street-facing rooms look out to the spectacular St Domnius Cathedral and overlook Peristil.
“We are very honored with the award, and of course we were surprised by the nomination itself. We received the nomination at the end of September from the Manager of World Luxury thanks to the excellent ratings on TripAdvisor,” Jakov Milun, owner of Heritage Hotel Antique Split, told Slobodna Dalmacija.
Split is home to one of the few heritage hotels in the world located within the walls of a 4th-century palace, giving guests the chance to taste a bit of Roman history.
