ZAGREB, 12 Aug (Hina/CW) – Croatian innovators won a gold, silver and bronze medal and a special award from the Chinese Association of Innovators at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival, where over 400 innovations from 40 countries were presented, the Croatian Association of Innovators announced.
The gold medal was won by the “Box barrier” innovation from the Jeltom d.o.o. company.
Mobile Box Barriers are a fast and efficient flood protection solution designed for urban areas. They are easy to install and require only two people to set up each 75-kilogram barrier, eliminating the need for heavy machinery.
These barriers are available in various shapes to accommodate different area sizes, ensuring flexibility in their application.
Once the flood risk subsides, the barriers can be quickly disassembled and stored for future use, offering a reliable and reusable defense against high waters with minimal manpower.
The silver medal was bagged by the wood “Sink Pavao” innovation from the Egorra d.o.o. company.
The creators successfully closed the pores of oak, Croatia’s most valued and high-quality wood, to make it waterproof and developed the unique designer washbasin.
The artistry of their craftsmen and the uniqueness in this washbasin is evident and it comes in a wooden cabinet made from natural materials, which is fully versatile and can be used in various ways in the household.
The bronze medal and special award from the Chinese Association of Innovators went to the “Tactile pendants for the blind and partially sighted” innovation by the Faculty of Graphics in Zagreb.
The Silicon Valley International Inventors Festival (SVIIF) was held from July 26 to 28 in Santa Clara, USA. Santa Clara Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor attended the festival and in addition to supporting the festival, she showed particular enthusiasm for Croatian innovations.
In addition, Croatian tourist destinations were promoted in cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board, as desirable destinations in the Mediterranean, the Croatian Association of Innovators said in its press release.
