12 February 2019 – Croatian international Marcelo Brozović is currently a double-record holder this season in Italy’s Serie A.
The Inter Milan midfielder holds the record this season in the league for covering the most distance on the pitch per match. Nobody in the Serie A has run as much as Brozović, who has an average of covering 12.171 km per match.
Brozović also tops the list in another department this season in the Serie A. The 26-year-old leads the way in the league for the most balls won or taken away from a player with 102, daily 24sata reports.
Brozović’s stamina is one of his main attributes and this was evident during Croatia’s magnificent run at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but it was his Inter Milan teammate Ivan Perišić who covered the most distance at the World Cup 72.5 km, or nearly two full marathons.
Brozović has become a key member of the Croatian national team in the defensive midfield role. Born in Zagreb, he made his Croatian league debut as a 17-year-old for Hrvatski Dragovoljac.
Brozović joined Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015. He has played for Croatia 42 times, including two World Cups, and has scored six goals for his country.
