Season 3 of ‘The Witcher’, which was filmed in Croatia, is set for its global release on Netflix on Thursday, June 29.
Starring Henry Cavill as monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, season 3 captures the beauties of Croatia, as well as Slovenia and Italy, among other locations.
Part of the third season of the popular Netflix fantasy series was filmed in Croatia on the island of Krk as part of the Filming in Croatia incentive program.
Right from the beginning of the trailer, which has over 11 million views already, the location on Krk is revealed. After extensive preparations, the actual filming on Krk lasted only one day.
“Filming took place on Krk in April 2022, as part of the State Support Program for the Promotion of Investment in Audiovisual Works, conducted by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (Filming in Croatia). The production service company involved was PAKT Media. A total of 218 members of the film crew participated in the shooting, including 58 Croatian film professionals,” HAVC said.
The third season of the series brings eight new episodes, which will be released on Netflix in two parts. The first part (episodes one to five) premieres on June 29, while episodes six, seven, and eight will be available for viewing from July 27.
The new season is inspired by the book “Time of Contempt” from the Witcher saga by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
