Mali Lošinj Tourist Board’s initiative ‘The Fragrances and Tastes of Lošinj’ took 3rd place in the UNWTO Ulysses Award for Innovation in Public Policy and Governance behind Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism – PromPeru (Peru) and Vienna Tourist Board’s 2020 strategy.
It is great recognition for the small Croatian island of Lošinj. ‘The Fragrances and Tastes of Lošinj’ is a tourism board project presenting Lošinj as an island of vitality based on the island’s tradition and activities conducted by various botanists, primarily Professor Ambroz Haračić thanks to whom Lošinj was declared a climatic health resort already in 1892. The Tourist Board of Mali Lošinj (DMO), in cooperation with the Town of Mali Lošinj and the Fragrant Island Garden, have been developing ‘Fragrances and Tastes of Lošinj’ since 2005.
