Croatian Island on World’s Top 10 Most Beautiful list

One Croatian island has been named one of the 25 Best Islands to Visit Around the World by readers of prominent international travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

The Dalmatian island of Hvar has been ranked the 7th best island in the world. 

This recognition for Hvar is part of the annual “World’s Best Awards” survey for 2024.

The survey revealed Hvar’s charm, securing its place with a reader score of 91.53. The island’s allure stems from its combination of natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant nightlife.

Described as the “Queen of the Dalmatian Islands,” Hvar boasts quaint squares, centuries-old buildings, and a medieval fortress overlooking the Adriatic Sea, offering visitors an unforgettable Mediterranean adventure.

The Travel + Leisure survey also highlighted other top destinations. The Maldives claimed the top spot, followed by Phú Quc in Vietnam, and Bali. Greece, with its numerous islands, featured prominently with Milos, Crete, Corfu and the Ionian Islands, and Páros making the list.

Italy was represented by Ischia, Sicily, and Sardinia, while Thailand’s Koh Samui and Phuket also secured spots.

Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards survey invited readers to share their opinions on travel experiences globally. This year, over 186,000 readers participated, casting more than 700,000 votes across over 8,700 properties, including hotels, cities, and cruise lines.

Islands were rated based on natural attractions, activities, restaurants, friendliness, and value. Hvar excelled in these categories, earning its recognition among the world’s finest islands.

“For an adventure in the Med, look no further than Hvar and the Dalmatian Islands,” writes Travel + Leisure, capturing the essence of this Croatian gem.
