New Zealand-based Samoan a capella group Klapa Samoana will be in Croatia performing this summer on their European tour.
The Kiwi-Samoans, who sing traditional Croatian songs in Croatian, were a huge hit in Croatia when they last toured 3 years ago.
The group, led by Christian Malietoa-Brown, made appearances on Croatian breakfast television, national radio, and were featured by most of the country’s leading media outlets the last time they toured the country and now they are preparing to visit again.
Klapa Samoana will tour Europe from 1 July – 1 September 2018 and hope to play 40 concerts during the 8-week tour.
“Send us a message and let us know where you want us to come to and play and we will do our best,” Malietoa-Brown said in his video announcing the tour.
Klapa Samoana has been guided by one of Croatia’s leading cultural exports – former Lado member and now Auckland-based cultural teacher Goran Kacurov.
The group has been warming up and have posted some amazing renditions of Croatian songs on their Facebook page.
