Croatian language & culture semester course at Croaticum set to start – applications open

ZAGREB, 26 February 2020 – Croaticum – Centre for Croatian as a Second and Foreign Language at the Department for Croatian Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences – is taking enrolments for its Croatian language and culture semester course in Zagreb which starts next week.
Starting on Monday, 2 March, the one-semester Croatian language and culture course takes place over 15 weeks and ends on 12 June 2020. Each day students learn Croatian in 3 lessons (3×45 minutes), which totals 225 contact hours of language learning in one semester.
In addition to learning the language, students can choose to learn more about Croatian language and culture through elective courses. Participation in elective courses is not charged additionally and includes topics such as Croatian ethnological heritage, film, everyday culture, pronunciation, literature and more.
The Semester Course of the Croatian Language and Culture is accredited as Language Exercises in Croatian as a Second and Foreign Language. Successful completion of the programme earns students 14 ECTS credits.
Classes are organised in diverse groups of students speaking different languages and belonging to different nationalities and age groups. Groups are formed on the basis of the results of Croatian language placement tests taken on the first day of the semester.
