Young Croatian footballing wonderkind Matija Golubic is turning heads in Croatia after netting 22 goals in one match for his club side on the weekend.
Golubic, who was playing for his club side Mladosti from Saint Peter in Ludbreg in northern Croatia, scored 22 goals in his teams 30-0 victory over NS Ludbreg in the pioneer league.
The referee stopped recording the goal scorers in the match after the result was 22-0 after running out of space in his book, writes evarazdin.hr.
Golubic, who’s hero is Barcelona star Lionel Messi, says his friends thought he was having them on when he told them on Monday that he scored 22 goals in the weekend’s match. “I would like to play for Podravina at least, until then I need to work on getting better at passing and less dribbling,” said Golubic.
